THEN:

He is a former NFL assistant coach, most recently with the Oakland Raiders. He was hired in February, 2006, as offensive coordinator by head coach Art Shell[1] but demoted before the end of the 2006 season and replaced by John Shoop.[2] After leaving the Raiders, Walsh stated that Randy Moss, whom he coached in Oakland, was "a player whose skills are diminishing."[3] Moss went on to break the single season touchdown reception record in 2007 after being traded to the New England Patriots.
Walsh spent the past several years operating a bed and breakfast in Swan Valley, Idaho[4] and served as the town's mayor.[1] Prior to this, he had been the head football coach at Idaho State University.
He was 6-16 in two years at Idaho State and also went 8-3 in one year at U.S. International in 1979.
Between college coaching jobs, Walsh was an assistant with the Los Angeles Raiders for 14 seasons before departing in 1995, reaching the post of offensive coordinator.
